Warner Music Group has signed a distribution agreement with Chinese internet conglomerate Tencent, as the world's third-biggest record company experiments with new ways to expand in China.
The partnership comes as Warner and the two other major record companies (Universal and Sony) become increasingly optimistic about the potential to make money in the country, thanks to the rise of streaming services such as those owned by local internet groups Tencent, Baidu and Alibaba.
Under the terms of the deal, Tencent will distribute Warner's repertoire and new releases to all local Chinese audio services.

At new highs, Apple only starting to ripen: Analysts
Apple is on a record-breaking streak. And the rally doesn't look like it's going to slow anytime soon, some analysts said.
And with the stock creeping up, analysts are again whispering it might become the world's first trillion- dollar company.
"After fading a bit from focus ... I think we can start to have that trillion-dollar discussion again," said Alex Gauna, an analyst at JMP Securities.
The iPhone maker broke two of its own records on Thursday. Its stock price closed at an all-time high on at $112.82 and its market cap soared to a whopping $666.1 billion. (Watch The video)

Euro zone GDP beats, Greece emerges from recession
Investors breathed a sigh of relief on Friday, as the euro zone's economy grew more than expected in the third quarter and Germany narrowly avoided falling into recession.
Euro zone gross domestic product (GDP) grew by 0.2 percent on the previous quarter, according to data from the Eurostat, the European Union's statistics service, beating a Reuters forecast of a 0.1 percent expansion.
The 18-country bloc that uses the euro emerged from an almost two-year recession in the second quarter of 2013, but it's been an uneven journey for the region since then, with diminishing demand plaguing the region alongside geopolitical concerns with tensions in the eastern part of Ukraine.

Spain is a troubled country
Spain has been held up to other euro zone countries as an example of the benefits of structural reform.
That’s fair enough, up to a point.
The conservative government’s bank rescues and labour reform have stabilised the financial system and improved competitiveness.
The economy is expected to grow 1.2 percent this year and 1.7 percent next year by the European Commission.
But the country is troubled, as I discovered after spending several days in Madrid and Barcelona last week.
The unemployment rate may be falling but it is expected to end next year at an eye-watering 23.5 percent. Corruption scandals embroiling politicians from all the traditional governing parties are popping out of the woodwork.
And government debt is still climbing and expected to exceed 100 percent of GDP next year.

Royal Bank of Scotland to exit U.S. mortgage business
Royal Bank of Scotland Plc's (RBS.L) securities unit will now exit its U.S. mortgage trading business after originally planning to shrink it by two-thirds.
Exiting mortgage backed-security, commercial real estate and commercial mortgage-bond sales and trading "is a necessary part of repositioning our US business," an RBS spokesman said in an emailed statement.
RBS said in May it will eliminate hundreds of jobs in the United States over the course of two years to help reduce assets ahead of new rules by the U.S. Federal Reserve.
